| During Winter Quarter 2005, I took a class on Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov. The final assignment was to make a set of notecards that were to be the bare bones of a larger work; a successful project would give our teacher "an orgasm at the base of her spine." I had entirely too much fun with mine, which, despite appearances, actually has more than nothing to do with the novel and with Nabokov himself.
